Aerosmith Head Update
I am still working daily on Aerosmith's head. When one element isn't right (and you can't figure out what it is!) *everything* looks off. For the life of me, I just could not put my finger on what was 'not right'! It's been driving me crazy for months and I keep changing one thing after another ( a very long process) in the hopes that I'll have that rainbow moment where I see the pot of gold and it all comes together. After viewing a photo of Hickstead's head at a 3/4 angle, I decided his eyes were too large and not placed correctly on his head. So after weeks and weeks of working on his eyes, I just completely covered them with apoxie and started over. I am much happier with them now and have them almost matched up. I definitely like his left side better than his right, so am working to get that perfect. Then I'll start on his veins. I'm so sorry for the long delay, but there is nothing else I can do but press on. I have come to the realization that I will never be totally happy with his head, like I have on other sculptures.....the perfectionist in me is at war with the need for being practical and expedient.
Lyme Disease has made me clumsy and I've dropped his head twice~ the left ear broke off the first time, the right ear the second time. So, until I have his head attached to his body again, I'm not going to resculpt his ears (again!). That is why they look like such a mess. So here is his head as it sits today~
