Shipping Policies in a nutshell
(International Customers, go to the bottom for more info)
For all shipments, I ship via the US Postal Service. Insurance is NOT included in US Postal shipments, so you will need to request insurance and pay for it if you want your traditional resin insured via USPS. Tracking is included.
Default shipping address is your Paypal address. Be sure your Paypal address is up to date! If I ship to the address on your Paypal account and it is returned, you are responsible for paying shipping charges for re-shipment.
I will not hold your package here and wait to ship it if you are not home. I ship according to my schedule and cannot be responsible for remembering when everyone will be gone or on vacation. The ONLY exception is in the case of a natural disaster, such as a hurricane. I will do my best to change the shipping information if possible in that case.
I cannot offer shipping discounts for multiples on traditional models, and rarely on minis unless there are several. It actually costs me about $20 more to ship two trad. models together vs. in separate boxes due to the larger sized/heavier box. USPS really ramps up costs over a certain size/weight.
I do not email you when your model ships, but I enter your email address into my Stamps.com account and they have been very good about automatically sending you an email when your package ships, with the tracking number. I love this feature!
I usually give very rough shipping time estimates, and if people email and ask, I will give them an updated rough estimate, but that is about it. My work load is such that just getting them boxed, labeled and shipped out is a huge job.
Damaged or Lost Models:
I do not automatically insure because USPS does not honor claims. It's a joke, a run around and a complete waste of time and money. However, I will insure if you request it and pay the extra cost prior to shipping.
I will replace your broken model IF: you contact me immediately and let me know it arrived broken. You have 3 days from the time your resin arrives to notify me and 7 days to return it to me. I will remberse your return shipping and replace your resin.
Due to the fact that every package is tracked, it should not be lost in shipping.
However, if a regular run model that is currently being produced gets lost ( meaning I can still get casts from the mold and it's not sold out) gets lost *somehow*, even with tracking, I will replace it. This does NOT apply to custom work or any resins that were not sculpted by me.
These are the terms in which I will ship your resin to a 3rd party
You need to send me the address of the person you want your resin shipped to when you order. Even if you think that I already have their address or the 3rd party is also getting the same resin. I have to record it on YOUR order, not theirs.
I may not ship your resin and the 3rd party's resin together at the same time.
You are responsible for all communication with your 3rd party. I only ship to them.
I am not responsible for it once it leaves me. If the 3rd party claims they did not receive it, it is up to you and them to work it out and they will owe you for it. I ship via USPS and always track packages, so we know when and if it arrived.
If I do not have the address of the 3rd party when I am ready to ship your order, I will ship it to you. I cannot hold your resin here waiting for you to send me the address. That is why it is important that I have it right away and with your order. Please do not ask me to look up their address for your order.
Returns
I do not accept returns unless the resin is somehow defective. Examples would be that the resin itself is sticky and there is an area that has not cured properly. Another example would be if there is an extremely thin area of resin due to an air bubble.
MINIS TIME FRAMES:
Some of my minis are produced by Mountain View Studios. They do an excellent job, but have other customers. I do not control their schedule, and am not privy to their schedule. I do not pester them about when my resins will ship to me. When they arrive, I get them shipped to you as fast as possible. If you email and ask me when your mini will ship, the answer is "When it arrives from
MVS and I can box it up and ship it out". In other words: "I can't give you a date." I ship out all mini orders within a couple days of
arrival from MVS.
Email Notifications of Shipment:
I make an effort to enter all customer emails into my Stamps.com account and they should send you an automatic email when I print your label with your tracking number.
~OVERSEAS AND INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS~ ___
The Default Shipping Method for all overseas packages will be as follows:
* Default shipping method is United States Postal Service, First Class.
* I reserve the right to claim full value on any packages.
* I do not insure packages unless requested and you pay the extra cost.
* If you want Global Tracking, you must request and pay extra for Priority Mail Express International or
Global Express Guaranteed.
USPS says will track to 'most' locations. It's extremely expensive.
If you want this option, you just say so at the time you place your order and I can calculate the
shipping to your exact location.
* USPS can only promise all other non Global
* USPS can only promise tracking up to the US Border. Once it leaves the United States, it's a crap shoot.
Depending on what carrier takes over the shipping, there may or may not be tracking information available
beyond the US border.
* Once the box leaves my care, I am no longer liable for it in any way.
*Due to concerns over the really high cost of shipping back and forth to the US, risk of breakage, I will allow
overseas customers to have their resin shipped to a 3rd party in the US if the certain rules outlined below
are followed.
International Shipping Time Frames:
Generally, about 2-4 weeks is average time in transit to most countries. However, I
shipped a Catalina resin to a customer in Germany and it took 10 weeks to arrive.
That is the longest time it has ever taken, but the resin did arrive.
Once I ship, the box is out of my control and sometimes we have to be patient.
One other example: I shipped a resin to Europe and it went to the wrong
address. It took SIX MONTHS for the horse to be returned to me, but it did get returned.
