, Trades! They can be so fun and rewarding. Here is how I approach trades......
Unless we agree otherwise, both parties pay their own shipping for trades. Generally I only do "straight across" trades with no extra money being owed by either party. Simple and easy, right?
If you are sending me a trade in payment for a resin of mine that is 'in production' but not shipping yet, I will consider your trade the same as a cash payment. When it arrives, I put your name on the shipping list in the order it was received by date, the same as I would a regular order that has been paid with $. In other words, if you want to wait until my resin is ready to ship to send your trade, your name will not go on the order list (because no payment has been received) thus causing other orders to come in before yours. This causes your trade to become a potential trade as your name gets pushed farther and farther down the list. Sometimes this can result in the trade not happening if I end up receiving several other trades before yours arrives. I can only do so many trades and get a large number of trade offers.
If you value your resin higher than the one I have for trade, I am probably not going to do a trade where I owe money. If they are fairly close in value (about $50) and my resin has a bit higher value, I'm probably going to go ahead and call it an even trade and not require payment from you. Where the value difference is more considerable, perhaps $75 and up, I would require payment of the difference. I realize value can be in the eye of the beholder and can fluctuate dramatically over time, so I estimate value~ as much as possible~ based MH$P latest average sale price of the actual resin.
For some Eberl trades, a photo of the ACTUAL resin you own ( not 'reference' photo) is required before I agree to the trade. Twice now customers have mistakenly shipped me the wrong Eberl, because there are so many and some are very much alike. They were honest mistakes, but the values were very different. Eberl trades generally take precedence over other resins.
Below is a list of resins I will consider for trades.
